This page is dedicated to all the exciting things we will be doing in class this year.

Dear Parents/ Carers - Term 5

What is it like to live on a farm? We’re going to be exploring what life is like on a farm, for both the animals, and the people who work there. We will learn about how farms work, what jobs you can do, and how wild animals can live alongside farm animals.

English and Maths

Our English lessons will be linked to our topic. We will be writing directions to get around a farm, as well writing our own farmyard walk stories. In Maths, we will be learning about weight and volume, and then moving on to multiplication and division.

Other Subjects

Science: Plants Art/DT: Giant farm collages PE: Athletics and Paralympic Sports RE: Judaism – Who is Jewish and what do they believe? Geography: Directional language and maps PSHE: Keeping safe – people who help us.

PE

PE sessions will take place on Monday and Fridays. Children will also need to bring a water bottle to school as we will take this outside on the days of our PE lessons.

Reading, Home Learning and Show and Tell

Reading Please continue to read daily with your children. This is very important, as reading confidently and fluently unlocks the door to independent learning across the curriculum. **Once books have been read twice/three they will be changed. Home Learning This term, we will continue with our home learning grid. Each week, pick an activity from the grid to complete together. Bring your work in or take a photo and stick it in your book. If it’s easier, you could email photos to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , and your child can then explain what they did to the class. Homework can be submitted any day of the week. Show and Tell As we approach the end of the year Show and Tell will become less frequent in Robins class, if there is time at the end of the day on Fridays we will endeavor to fit it in!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send me an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or catch me at the door to arrange a meeting.
