Resources for week commencing Monday 11th January:

Dear Owls,

I hope you are all well, and that you have enjoyed your first week of home learning activities.  I know that you will work really hard with your grown-ups at home. When you have finished some work you’re really proud of, be sure to send me a picture at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that I can print it and stick it into your maths and learning log books in school.

While you’re at home, it’s really important that you continue to produce work that is neat and tidy. For each lesson, be sure to write the date and LI just like you would in school. Some of you have already collected some exercise books to keep your work in. If you haven’t yet, be sure to come up to the school office to get yours. This means you can keep all your home learning work in one place. You should have a book for Maths, and a book that you can do all your other work in. If you don’t have a printer, please let me know, and I can print all the things you’ll need for each week and you can walk to school on Monday and collect them.

Each day, check the learning timetable on the class page under each week’s tab. Then follow the links for each lesson, and then find the corresponding worksheet if there is one on the class page.  If you have any questions, please send me an email.

READING

As you will have seen on the newsletter, it’s really important that you keep up with your reading at home. If you email me with your current AR reading level, I can collect some books from the library for you to collect from school. I am available at school to do this Monday to Wednesday. You can also complete your AR book quizzes from home. The link for the quizzes is HERE and also in the Documents and Links section on our class page near the bottom.

Starting from next week, I will be doing LIVE story time every FRIDAY on Facebook from 2.45pm. We will be reading our new class book ‘Oliver and the Seawigs’ I hope to see you there!

MATHS

Please check out TT Rockstars frequently, as Miss Brown has set some ‘Battle of the Bands’ competitions between the classes! I will also set new Prodigy content each week. You can use these apps alongside your maths work from White Rose that I will be setting each week. Links to all of these apps can be found in the Documents and Links section on our class page near the bottom.

DROP-IN SESSIONS

This term, I will be available for drop-in sessions via Zoom. You can use these sessions to show me some work you’re really proud of, to ask any questions about some work that might have confused you, to get something explained more clearly, or just to have a general chat and check in.

The time slots each week will be:

Thursday 10 - 11am

Friday 1pm – 2pm

To book your space, please email me with the time you would prefer, and I will send you the Zoom link. You can drop in any time within that hour and stay for as long as you like.

OUTDOOR LEARNING AT HOME

This year in school, we have a focus on getting outdoors or our learning. Take a look at the activity sheet on the class page and pick a few activities to try out You could always get your brothers and sisters to join in too!

OTHER  RESOURCES

If you have more free time or what to do any more learning, please check out the ‘School Closures’ page of the school website. This page is chock full of websites, activities and resources that you can supplement your home learning with.

As always, I am very proud of your resilience and adaptability, both the Owls and your parents!  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions. I will be in school with the vulnerable children and children of key workers Monday-Thursday, so may be slower to respond to emails on those days.
