Resources for week commencing Monday 11th January:

Dear Falcons,

I hope you enjoyed your first week of remote learning and had fun with some of the activities including the WOW day. Well done to those children that made an effort to dress up and also email me the work completed this week.

In the resources below, I have planned a whole week of learning which mirrors what we are doing in school. Try to follow it as best you can and remember I am available by email to answer any questions or queries you may have. If you have worked your hardest and have struggled to complete all the tasks- don't worry! Just start again the next day, don't try to catch up because you will get overwhelmed. As long as you are trying your hardest, that is all I want.
For each lesson, be sure to write the date and LI as I have mentioned on the timetable for each day. Remember to try to complete the work just as neat and well presented like you would in school and send me photos of your completed work, which I will stick in your Maths, Learning Log, Science and RE books in school to show what you have been learning at home.

Announcements:

Exercise books: To assist you with your home learning and if you haven’t got anything to produce your work in, we are happy to supply free school exercise books. You can do Maths work in yellow Maths books and any English/Topic/Science/RE in a writing book. This will help you to keep your work neat and organised and also reduce the amount of printing you need to do. Most of the documents on the website are in a PDF format so they can be opened, viewed and read on screen on any device.
Parents/guardians please let me know by sending me an email and I will leave them at the office for you to collect and take home. Also, if you really need anything printed out and you do not have access to a printer, then please let me know, and I can print all the things you’ll need for each week for you to collect at the office.

Reading books: If you need any new AR reading books in your range (max 3 a week) please email me to let me know and I shall send a selection to the office for you to pick up each Monday. I’ll select the books for your child based on their current AR Range. Books must be returned to the office before new books can be issued.
Don't forget to complete your AR quizzes to hit your points target by going to the Accelerated Reader website which is in the home learning links section.

Year 6 Zoom Meetings: As stated before, please do email me with any worries or struggles. However, I will also be holding 1:1 drop-in sessions via Zoom, in which you can ask any questions about some work that you might be finding a bit tricky and need explaining again and more clearly, to celebrate and showcase some work you have completed, or just to have a general chat and tell me how you are! There will be time slots available each week will be:

Thursday 1 - 3pm                     Friday 9.30 - 11.30am

To book your 10 minute slot, please email me with the time you would prefer, and I will send you the Zoom link and access details.

My email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Stay safe, have fun and enjoy your independent learning.

Miss Brown
